Start a Fundraiser

Your idea. Your community. A shared purpose.

Fundraising is one of the many ways you can help National MSA Research raise awareness of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) and support vital research into this rare and progressive neurological condition.

Whether you’re planning a morning tea, trivia night, workplace fundraiser, community event or personal challenge, your efforts can help make a meaningful difference.

Every fundraiser, no matter how big or small, creates an opportunity to bring people together, share awareness and support our mission.

Why Fundraise for National MSA Research?

Multiple System Atrophy is a complex neurological condition for which there is currently no cure.

At National MSA Research, we are committed to increasing awareness and supporting scientific research aimed at improving our understanding of MSA, identifying better treatments and ultimately finding a cure.

By organising a fundraiser, you can help us continue working towards these goals while bringing your community together around an important cause.

Fundraising Ideas

There are many creative and enjoyable ways to support National MSA Research.

Community Fundraisers

Bring friends, neighbours or members of your community together for an activity supporting MSA research.

Ideas include community BBQs, market stalls, trivia nights, garage sales, raffles where appropriately authorised, and local fundraising events.

Workplace Fundraising

Businesses and workplaces can encourage employees to participate in fundraising activities.

Consider a casual dress day, office morning tea, team challenge, workplace giving initiative or a company-sponsored fundraising event.

Personal Challenges

Set yourself a personal goal and encourage family, friends and colleagues to support your efforts.

You could participate in a walk, run, cycling challenge, fitness activity or another personal achievement.

Celebrations & Special Occasions

Turn a special occasion into an opportunity to make a difference.

Birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and other celebrations can provide meaningful opportunities to raise funds in support of MSA research.

Fundraising in Memory

Honour the memory of someone special by organising a fundraising activity dedicated to their life and legacy.

Fundraising in memory of a loved one can bring family and friends together while supporting a cause that holds personal significance.

How to Start Your Fundraiser

Share your fundraising activity with family, friends, colleagues and the wider community.

National MSA Research may be able to provide approved branding, information resources, a letter of authority or promotional assistance, depending on the activity and available resources.

Step 5 — Fundraise and Make a Difference

Bring your community together and enjoy your fundraising activity.

Make sure donations and other fundraising proceeds are handled responsibly through agreed collection and payment arrangements.

Once your activity is complete, thank your supporters, finalise financial records and arrange for fundraising proceeds to be transferred through the approved process.

We would love to hear about your experience and what your community achieved.
